STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES AT KLMS

            NOTES FROM YOUR SCHOOL NURSE

• A written health care plan must be filled out by your physician, if you wish your child to carry their own inhaler in school.  This form may be found on the Student Health Services Link.  www.vbschools.com/index.asp

• Based on recommendations from area Pediatricians, it is advised that your child stay home if they have a temperature of 100 degrees or greater. Your child may return to school once their temperature has been less than 100 degrees for 24 hours. 

• It is helpful if the school nurse is aware of any medications your child is taking.  Since I see them for various complaints during the day, it alerts me to monitor for any possible medication side effects.  This may be noted on the Student Information Update form that is sent home at the beginning of the year.
